In May, École normale supérieure welcomed a new sponsor, MACIF, with the signing of a new climate research chair.
Jean-Philippe Dogneton, Managing Director of MACIF, was present to formalize this new collaboration, which will strengthen ties between the academic world and players in the field, thus contributing to a more resilient and supportive society.
The chair, entitled “Climate change: new fractures, new mutualizations”, will be headed by Aglaé Jezequel, a climatology researcher at the Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique – IPSL, and Serge Paugam, Director of the Centre Maurice Halbwachs.
The Chair’s work will focus on the study of extreme climatic events, which will be approached through the prism of both the exact sciences and the social sciences. The aim is to gain a better understanding of the impacts of climate change, so as to contribute to the development of innovative mutualization solutions to meet these challenges.
