Social Justice and Artificial Intelligence Chair

Social Justice and Artificial Intelligence Chair
Supported by Abeona

ENS and the ENS Foundation inaugurated the Chair in Artificial Intelligence and Justice on September 18, 2019, in partnership with the Abeona Foundation, for an initial period of three years, renewable.

The Chair is led by Thierry Poibeau, CNRS Research Director at the LATTICE laboratory (Languages, Texts, Computational Processing and Cognition), and Tanya Perelmuter, co-founder of the Abeona Chair. Its mission is to invite to ENS each year a leading expert in fields related to artificial intelligence and its sociological, ethical, and scientific impacts. Research activities focus specifically on justice, bias, and fairness in artificial intelligence, and give rise to a series of seminars intended for researchers, students, and external participants.

The Chair holder for the 2025–2026 academic year is Sasha Luccioni, a researcher in AI ethics and Climate Lead at Hugging Face.
