For several months now, the ENS Foundation, in partnership with a-Ulm (the alumni association), has been organizing evening events dedicated to class reunions, bringing together former students united by a common spirit: that of the École normale supérieure.
From the class of 1975 to the class of 2010, including the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and 2005, each promotion has been invited to gather once again on rue d’Ulm. In June, the classes of 1990 and 1995 celebrated the 35th and 30th anniversaries of their entry into the School, in a warm and emotional atmosphere.
Diverse Journeys, a Shared Bond
These reunions are also an opportunity to highlight the rich and varied paths of our alumni: researchers, diplomats, entrepreneurs, teachers, artists…

“This event is also a reunion with the School, with fellow Normaliens, and with what the School has built within us.”
— Valérie Baraban (L 1990), Consul General in Houston
Each time, the presence of ENS leadership, the Foundation, a-Ulm, and dedicated members of each class lends these moments a unique resonance. They offer a chance to rekindle connections, share personal journeys, and reflect—honestly and faithfully—on what the School continues to represent.
“These reunions remind us of what ENS still means to each of us: a place of rigor, freedom, friendship, and transformation.”
— Frédéric Worms, Director of ENS
Uniting for Collective Action
These gatherings also serve as a reminder of the vital role played by the ENS Foundation: supporting the School’s ambitions in tangible ways—equal opportunity, democracy, research, and heritage—thanks to the generosity of its donors.
“The Foundation can only act with you, thanks to you. Thank you for your essential loyalty.” — Caroline Guény-Mentré, Executive Director of the Foundation
