Philippe Meyer Institute of Physics

Philippe Meyer Institute of Physics

For the past 13 years, the École normale supérieure (ENS) and its physics laboratory, LPENS, have benefited from the support of the Foundation for Cultural and Artistic Development. This Institute honors Professor Philippe Meyer through a long-term initiative combining research and teaching. Initially focused on theoretical physics, the Philippe Meyer Institute of Physics (IPM) has, since 2024, expanded its scope to encompass all research areas of the ENS Physics Laboratory. It funds and manages postdoctoral research positions, known as Junior Research Chairs, as well as a program of visits by leading scientific figures. The Institute also awards the Philippe Meyer Prize every two years, reserved for early-career researchers in theoretical physics.
