CO₂ Uptake in the Oceans Chair

ENS and Chanel partnered to conduct research on the role of the oceans in combating climate change, more specifically on their capacity to regulate the climate through CO₂ absorption. More broadly, the Chair, led by Laurent Bopp, helped position oceans and their resources within the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
The research areas included: oceans as a carbon sink,marine biodiversity, oceans as a sustainable source of food for coastal communities, ocean knowledge and education, and women and the oceans.
