Space Chair
Supported by nine patrons
This chair is under the scientific direction of Stéphanie Ruphy, a philosopher of science. By approaching space through the lens of the humanities and social sciences, the ESPACE Chair fully aligns with ENS’s transdisciplinary and innovative research approach. Its main research areas are: the uses and representations of space throughout history; space as a common good and an issue of sovereignty; and the sustainable uses of space.
Inaugurated on February 1, 2024, the chair is supported by numerous patrons from the space sector: GIFAS (the French Aerospace Industries Association), Airbus, Air Liquide, ArianeGroup, CNES, Eutelsat, Safran Data Systems, Sodern, and Thales Alenia Space.
